Celeste Edwards Jackson, 96, of Richmond passed away on January 23, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Emmett Lafayette and Elizabeth Adeline Powell Edwards, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Jackson, Jr. Mrs. Jackson was a member of House of Prayer in Chesterfield. She is survived by two sons, Charles Saunders Jackson, III and wife, Sandy T., David Wayne Jackson and wife, Tracy Hening; seven grandchildren, Brandy Harville and husband, Justin, Stephanie Kitchen, Lauren, Adrienne, and Benjamin Jackson, Stephanie and Madison McDonnell; five great-grandchildren, Meghan, Katherine, and Cassie Kitchen, Tanner Harville, and Jayden Reavis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com

Are prayers are with all your family, at the loss of our dear Celeste. She was a great lady whose hands were never idle and loved to read the Word. We cherish the sweet memories of the times we spent together.

Jackie and Dewey,

So sorry to learn of your mother's passing. I know how difficult a thing that is. To make it to 96 is amazing. But now she is at peace and beyond the frailties and suffering of old age and illness. May you find some comfort in that. You're in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
