Poarch, John C.

John Crittenden Poarch, 84, of Charlottesville died August 28, 2010. He was the son of the late James Wharton, and Clara May Powell Poarch, and was also preceded in death by two wives, Anne Connelly Poarch, and Anne Brister Tricebock; two brothers, William and James Poarch; and two sisters, Christine Howell, and Ethel Winfield. He was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church, in Petersburg, and was a retired employee of Allied Chemical. Mr. Poarch is survived by two daughters, Verna P. Myers, and husband Ed of Ruston, LA, Dana P. Neidley of Charlottesville; two sisters, Gladys Lesley, and husband Willard, Hattie Duncan both of Hopewell; a brother, Willard Poarch of Colonial Heights; five grandchildren Christine and Andrew Neidley, Jennifer Bates, and husband Larry, Ken Myers, Kristen Saldivar, and husband York; one great-grandson, Ethan Saldivar; one step-daughter, Jean Fleming, and husband Andy, of Arlington, Va; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with the Dr. Michael H. Browder officiating. Interment Appomattox Cemetery.
