Robert T. Saunders Jr., 75 of Prince George passed away on Monday August 23, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia Saunders, sons, R. Thomas Saunders III and Catherine Hill, Clay Saunders and his wife Maria, sisters, Shirley Willcox, Margaret Lowdon, Edith McAvoy, brother, William Saunders.
Mr. Saunders was a native of Charlottesville, VA and was the son of the late Robert T. Saunders Sr. and Christine Brockman Saunders.
He graduated from VMI class of 1957 and was a former instructor at Augusta Military Academy. He was a Lt. Col (Ret) from the Va National Guard with 33 years of service, and a retired Civil Servant at Fort. Lee. Mr. Saunders was a member of Faith Lutheran Parrish and a past President of the Rives Ruritan Club. A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. on Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Officiating will be Bishop Troy Kaichen, with the family to receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice 3916 South Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805. To the Saunders Family: May God be with you through your sad loss. I worked with Bob years ago, was always a good co-worker and enjoyable to have in our Directorate (C&D). Know he will be sorely missed, may your grief pass gently.

Pat, so sorry to read this in the paper this a.m. Buddy was a great & fun guy...we remember the good ole' days and the fun we had with the two of you. May God be with you and family, and give you comfort.
