Ladye T. Powell “Sonny”, 81, of Petersburg passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Charles Churchill Traylor, Sr. and Susie Lee Harrison Traylor. Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband of 57 years, Claude Powell; daughters, Patsy Lee Powell of Petersburg, and Debbie Powell Knowles and husband, Robert of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Courtney Knowles of Dinwiddie and Price Knowles of Radford; sisters, Mary T. Martin of Colonial Heights and Idear T. Mayes of Hopewell; brother, Albert F. Traylor and wife, Jeannette of Fredricksburg; 2 special granddogs, Mackenzie Marie and Rikkie Dale and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4 to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association/Greater Richmond, 4600 Cox Road, Suite 130, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060. Mr. Powell, Patsy and Debbie....I send sincere condolences from the Wolfrey family of Beech Street, Kenilsworth, to all of you. We remember your wife and mother very well and it saddens us to hear of her passing. Please let us know if there is anything at all that any of you may need. You all will be with her again someday and when that time comes, it will be for all eternity.God Bless each of you and we will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. We love all of you.
