Judith Powell Barnes, 72, of Petersburg, VA died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Chippenham Medical Center. She was the daughter of Claude Jefferson and Eleanor Boisseau Powell. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Whitchurch. She is survived by her husband Phillip Wayne Barnes; children, David Michael Barnes and wife, Roberta, Stephen Wayne Barnes and Sharon Anne Barnes; four grandchildren; two brothers, Claude Powell, Jr. and Robert Powell; sister, Margaret Porter; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Christ & Grace Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ & Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA 23803 or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
