Akers, Trula K.

Trula Kiser Akers, 84, of Hopewell died Friday, March 12, 2010, at her residence. She was born in West Virginia. Mrs. Akers was a retired sales associate for Peebles Department Store, a member of the Hopewell Woman’s Club, a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church , a volunteer at J. E. Mallonee Middle School and at the polling booths. Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Ellsworth Akers, two daughters, Melody A. Stallings and Pamela G. Akers. Surviving are her son. Winston “Rusty” Ellsworth Akers, Jr. and wife JoAnn of Prince George, a daughter, Patricia “ Patty” A. Vaughn and husband, Danny, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Winston, III, Katelyn, Tyler and John, and a special sister-in-law, Sally Tolbert of Hopewell. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 15, 2010 at 1 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will be private.
