Condolences

Dear Barbara and Family:
I just returned to the area yesterday and I was shocked and sorry to hear that he had passed. He was very helpful to me when I moved from San Antonio to work in the Ft. Lee CPO office. His positve attitude was always evident and I valued him and the advice he gave on MER issues. He will be sorely missed and our thought and prayers are with him and your family.

I had the privlege of working directly with Joyce at CPO and now with Bill here at DeCA, they were giants among men! Barbara and family, after reading all the above messages, you know how much Bill was loved. I have such good memories working in CPO with Joyce and Bill. I remember when Mark was born, Joyce was such a happy grandmother. The times we played soft ball, what fun times we had. Bill will certainly be missed, but he is waiting for us and giving all of us a big smile today. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Not long ago, someone came up behind Gay and tapped her on the shoulder, and there was Bill with all smiles. It was great to see him that day. He always had a funny story to relate. He was a big ole boy but had a sweet, soft heart when he would talk about tender spiritual subjects. We know where he is today because of it! It is hard to know why he left so early but we do know whose presence he is in right now. Bless you, Barbara, and family. We have been and will continue to hold you up in prayer. Love in Christ,

I was terribly shocked to hear the news. Time seems to go by quickly for it seems only yesterday we were in the halls of Prince George. Bill was a wonderful person who always had a kind word and encouragement when needed. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Barbara and Family,

I was so saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Fort Lee has lost one of its greatest icons. I looked to Bill as a mentor, coworker, and friend. He always had a smile and his wry sense of humor could knock your socks off. I always acccused him of "being in pursuit of Bambi" and he would always get a chuckle out of that.

I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.

Barbara, Brenda and I just learned of Bill's passing. It was a shock to both of us. I last talk to Bill at the last Burrowsville Ruritan club activity. We always talk deer and turkey hunting. Brenda worked for Bill at CPO and he was always there for me during those many years at Fort Lee and living in Prince George County. I retired 2006 from Fort Lee and would see Bill at all the local festivities. He loved his family, his job, his life as an avid hunter and fisherman and just Life. He will greatly be missed.
God Bless you and the entire family. His memories will live with us until we meet him again in The Lord's House.

Goldie and I extend our sincere sympathy to you. It was so good to see him a couple of Sundays ago when he came to meet the bus as we returned from NY. We pray for your comfort from the comforter. Having worked with him at the old CPO and at DeCA, I know of his faith, therefore we take comfort that he is resting in the arms of Jesus.

Dear Barbara and family,
I was so shocked to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a good friend to me as we worked together at CPO. I loved his dry humor. I also fondly remember hearing of his and Fritz's antics from Joyce when she and I worked together in the 60's. May the love of friends give you comfort and may the love of God give you peace.

So sorry to hear about Billy. He was a good friend in High School and throughout the years when we were able to keep in touch. He will be missed by all.

Barbara -

Billy, John Wells, and I were a trio back in high school. Nothing could have separated us then - but the years have done that. We were the best of friends back then and those memories will stay with me forever. Billy was the best!!! In my years since that time I have never met someone like him. He was so unique - as you well know. I am so thankful now that we met again at the PGHS reunion a few years ago. I met you then as well. Please know that my sympathies go out to you and your family. May peace and healing come in time.

Dear Barbara and Family. I was saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I was priviliged to work with him for many years both at Fort Lee CPO and DeCA.He was a valued member of my staff at DeCA and I knew him to be a man of great integrity and honor. I could always count on his advice and counsel. He will be greatly missed and I know he is in a much better place waiting on the rest of us. I fondly remember the piece of the Berlin Wall he brought me on a visit home. We laughed many times together. Susan and I both pray for you and the boys and Krystal. May God be with you all.

Barb, please accept my sincerest condolences on your sudden loss of Bill. Words are little comfort at this time but, thankfully, memories are a comfort. I and our CPO office were very fortunate to have Bill on the staff in the early and mid-80s; I have several pleasant stories of Bill during those times both in the office and on the softball field. I appreciate the times Jean and I were able to spend together with Bill, you, and the family in your trip down to Heidelberg and our trip to West Berlin. And, of course, I really appreciated the box of Berlin Wall remnants he collected for me. May the gracious Lord fill you with peace that comes from your knowing of the 31 years Bill and you spent together and wonderful legacy he – together with you – has left to the rest of us. I’m very grateful and fortunate to have known him.

It was with great sadness that Helen and I heard of Bill's passing. Having worked closely with him on a number of issues at the Defense Commissary Agency over the past 18 years, I had the greatest respect for Bill's knowledge and professionalism. His passing is not only a loss to the Zeiner family, but also to DeCA and the Fort Lee community.

Barbara, Mark, Brad, and Krystal. My heart aches with you for the terrible loss your family is enduring. I worked with Bill from the time we started the new agency of DeCA in 1991. He was always a joy to work with, and more recently we've shared the pleasure of being fellow "somewhat retirees", and joked about the benefits of our part-time work. He will be sorely missed by us all. May God surround and comfort you. You're in my prayers. Ann Dillon

Barbara and Family,
Wow, this is so hard to believe. Billy was so full of life. It was almost 40 years ago when we met and became lifelong friends. We worked together for a number of years; we held many of the same jobs and shared many of the same friends; we served on the Credit Union Board together; we played together, traveled TDY together and mostly, laughed together; many, many times. While we all will certainly miss Bill, he surely left enough of himself in all of us to carry on his spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough time and I'm sure Billy is sitting on God's right, praying for all of us right now.

What a surprise to hear the news that Bill was taken so suddenly, he must have been needed. As he walked through the halls at DeCA he was never without a smile or helpful hand, always willing to help each and everyone who needed him. He will be missed by many; more so by his family. May you find peace in the comfort of others, prayer and the memories you made along life's journey.

Words cannot express your loss but know that Bll was loved and admired by his co-workers and friends at DeCA. I so enjoyed his humor and easy going nature, but mostly our common interest in sports, especially our favorite football team, the "Dallas Cowboys". Bill was indeed my Cowboys buddy and at least he got to relish Dallas' victory over the Redskins. I will miss our chats. Please accept my love and prayers for you and your family.
