Sheffield, George E.

George Sheffield, 79, of Sussex County died December 25, 2009, at his home after a short illness. The son of the late Otis and Gracie Sheffield, George is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Grace Peffer Sheffield, four children and their spouses, Tony and Doris Sheffield, Clarence and Tammy Sheffield, Sammy Sheffield of West Virginia and Mary and Edward Harless of Disputanta. Two brothers Jamie Sheffield and Arthur Sheffield and two sisters Audrey Morris and Marie Jones. Blessed also with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many special friends including his brother in-law Joseph Peffer and Kevin Reynolds.
Mr. Sheffield was also predeceased by his son Roy W. Sheffield and two brothers Cleveland and Richard Sheffield.
George was a loving husband, devoted friend and proud father and grandfather. All who know him and love him will sorely miss him.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2 P.M. in the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with interment to follow in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday December 27, 2009 from 4 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to Hospice of Central Virginia, 7231 Forest Ave, Richmond, VA 23226. The Purviance Chapel of J. T Morriss and Son Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Yes mam, I am sorry 2 hear of Mr Sheffield's passing. I dont know how I knew your husband, or you. I cannot remember and I am soo sorry. Please forgive me. I pray God comforts you and your family in this trying time. May God bless you and richly bless you. In Christ, Mrs Archer from Stony Creek
