Garrett, Charlotte F.

Mrs. Charlotte Fay Garrett, 62, of Dinwiddie County was called home to glory on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Myrtle Hall; her stepfather, Wallace Baisden; sister-in-law, Delma Garrett and her grandfather, Arthur Woolum. She was a faithful member of Dinwiddie Baptist Church until her declining health. She drove the school bus, bus 32, for Dinwiddie County of Transportation for 26 years. She loved the kids in her care and they will truly miss her. Some of her passions were playing Bingo, arts and crafts, traveling, going to gospel singings, and above all driving the school bus. Charlotte is survived by her husband, William D. Garrett of Dinwiddie, VA; daughter, Debora Rawlings (James) of Dinwiddie, VA; brothers-in-law, Dayton Garrett (Anne) of Dinwiddie, VA, Delane Garrett (Jo Ellen) of Weston, WV, Danny Parker (Rose) of Alum Bridge, WV, Michael Parker of Alum Bridge, WV; sisters-in-law, Loraine Harris (Stanley) of Weston, WV, Nancy Lee (Clifford) of WV, Janet Smith (Erlo) of Weston, WV, Marie Collins of Weston, WV; grandson, James Rawlings, II of Chester, VA; great grandson, Jayden Wells of Chester, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Among them are devoted friends, Thelma Johnson, Ethel Glover, Margaret Southall, Joyce Christopher, and Lillian Dilworth. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 3 to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dinwiddie County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 12418 Cox Road, Church Road, VA 23833. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

I never met Charlotte, her father was my moms uncle (Rice Hall) Rice died when my mom was a little girl and she never got the chance to meet and of his brothers, Arthur, Bennie, Walter..ect.I would love to share family information, Pictures.. if anyone is interested. I am sorry for your family's loss. My deepest sympthany go to all of the family, From what I have read about Charlotte she was a wonderful person and I'm sure she will be missed.

So sorry to hear of the lost of your loved one .I didnt know her long, but it was a pleasure to come out to visit her .Me and my mother-in-law will sure miss her, especially the smile on her face when we bought that chicken she loved.especially her laughs and jokes. I can't express enough how i will miss her.god bless all of you in your time o sorrow. but remember shes in heaven looking down on all of us. from the dilworth family

I was shocked by the passing of Mrs. Garrett, I know that she will be missed by all that knew her.

Delbert/Debbie, I still can't believe Charolette is gone I will miss our phone calls dearly even though she was my first Cousin she seemed like a SISTER to me we grew up together in Coal Mountain, W.Va. went to school together played most every day had fun, SHE WILL BE MISSED.

You and Debbie take care of each other, that is what Charolette would have wanted. Take care and keep in touch.

Dearest Garrett Family, I am so sorry to hear of Charlotte's passing and please know that she will surely be missed by all that knew her. She was a very dedicated and devoted Busdriver for this county for many years and will surely be missed by many a driver in Dinwiddie.Know that she is now in heaven and that there is a new angel up there on our side,thing is she is probably up there driving a shiny new bus.

So sorry to hear of Charlotte's death - it was such a shock! We enjoyed being with her at the gospel sings that she loved so much. She will be missed by all!
