Ada P. Carroll, 90 of Prince George Co., widow of Patrick T. Carroll, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Mrs. Carroll was predeceased by brothers Joseph Pierce, Linwood Pierce, Henry Pierce and Jimmy Pierce, brother-in-law Jack Carroll. She was a dedicated member of Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, who supported and cared for during her time of need. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Henretta Pierce. . She is survived by her daughter, Patricia C. Horne and son-in-law, Robert E. Horne, Jr. of Prince George Co, grandchildren, Robert E. Horne, III and wife, Donna, Patrick T. Horne and wife, Elizabeth, Pamela L. Nester and husband, James; great grandchildren, Sara Harrison and husband, Cary, Ashley Carson and husband, Thomas, James Nester, Matthew Nester, Patrick Horne, Mallory Horne, William Horne and Daniel Ozmore; great great grandchild, Austin Powers; devoted nieces and nephews, Janie Lee and husband, Charles, Ann Kemp and husband, Roger, Barbara Marks, Dorothy Ott and husband, Lonnie, Debi Lockee and Susan Grisack; nephew, Joseph Pierce, Jr. and friend, Wendy; also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Carroll of New Jersey and Terry Pierce of Massachusetts. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, 3018 County Drive, Petersburg, VA 23805 or the Odyssey Healthcare, 2801 Blvd. Suite G, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Dear Patsy, Bobby and ALL the Family of Ada,
You are in our thoughts and prayers and we know that Ada is in Heaven, for sure. She will surely be missed. (She is one of Don's favorite girls!). Our sympathy is with all of you. May her memory remain in our hearts "Till We Meet Again".
