Hower, Jerry W.

Jerry Wayne Hower, 62, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur Jefferson and Irene Vaughan Hower. Jerry retired from Allied Chemical after 38 years of service and was a member of Living Stone Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hower; daughter, Melinda Hower and fiance, Bill Moore of Littleton, NC; son, George Hower and wife, Monique of Galloway, OH; grandchildren, James Mayton, Kailey Mayton, and Austin Hower; brother, Dickie Hower and wife, Faye of Church Road; nephew, Jamie Hower of Dinwiddie; and best friend, Robert Thacker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. My heart and prayers goes out to the entire family. Jerry was an awesome man, who touched the life of many. Although he is not physically with us anymore, he will always be in our hearts and watching over us. His memories will always be cherished. If there is anything that you need me to do, now or in the future, don't hesitate to call. I Love You all!

Nancy,

I am sorry for your loss. Jerry was a very good man. He was special to everyone, especially to those grandkids. He will be truly missed. We will keep you, George and Melinda in our prayers. Take care and may God bless all of you in this time of sorrow.
