Reames, Mabel D.

Mabel Dabney Reames, 90, of Midlothian, died Thursday, June 4, 2009. Born in Chesterfield County, she was the daughter of the late Berkley Lee and Susie Cleaton Dabney and the widow of John Edward Smith and James Arthur Reames. She was a member of Salisbury Presbyterian Church in Midlothian. Mrs. Reames is survived by her sons, John D. Smith and Edward M. Smith and wife, Rita all of Midlothian, and a granddaughter, Hilary M. Smith of Richmond. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 8, 2009 at Salisbury Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Larry Chottiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Johns Cancer Foundation, 1401 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, VA 23235, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, P. O. Box 6565, Richmond, VA 23230, or The Faison School for Autism, 1701 Byrd Ave., Richmond, VA 23230. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

John, Edward, Rita, and Hilary,

We are so sorry to hear of "Grandmas" passing. She was a wonderful woman who always went out of her way to treat me like a part of your family and I will miss her a great deal. You will each be in our thoughts and prayers.
