Mary Latimer Horton Glass, 76, of DeWitt, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of the late Dr. Julius Broyles Horton and Jessie Clarkson Horton. Mary graduated from Sullins Junior College, Bristol, VA, and from the Medical College of Virginia School of Medical Technology. She retired from Southside Regional Medical Center as a laboratory technologist after 30 years of service. She enjoyed cross stitching and was an avid bridge player with the McKenney Afternoon Bridge Club. Mary is survived by her husband, John Hunter Glass, Sr.; sons, John Hunter Glass, Jr. of Matoaca, and Clarkson Horton Glass of DeWitt; daughter, Sallie Latimer Glass of Richmond; granddaughter, Michelle Glass Micheo and husband, Manuel of Mechanicsville; grandson, Jason Hunter Glass of Midlothian; great grandsons, Jacob and Alex Micheo and a sister, Sallie Hunter and husband, James of Ashville, NC. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will be private.
