Collier, Janet Padgett

Janet Padgett Collier, 74, of Waverly passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Born on December 16, 1934 in Prince George, she was the daughter of the late Isham J. and Geneva Sheffield Padgett. She was the widow of Horace Ray Collier after 55 years of marriage and a longtime member of Carsley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Barry Collier and wife, Hope and their children, Katherine and Timothy Collier; Stuart Collier and wife, Angeliea and their children, Jason and Peyton Collier; Robin Collier Ashworth and husband Junior; Linda Collier Buhls and husband, Wendal and their son, Hunter Buhls; two sisters, Evelyn Foster and Rosa Bristow; two brothers, Earl Padgett and Donald Padgett. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Marvin Padgett, Julia Ann Adams, Ella Mae Cox, Russell Padgett, Isham Joseph Padgett, Jr., and Robert Woodson Padgett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Carsley United Methodist Church, 5609 Carsley Rd., Waverly VA 23890 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 at the church on Wednesday evening. Memorial donations may be mailed to Carsley United Methodist Church, 224 Otterdam Rd., Waverly, VA 23890 and to Surry Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 188, Surry, VA 23883. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral home, Purviance Chapel in Wakefield. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your mom was a special lady and loved by many. She was always a fun person to be around. She will be greatly missed.

Stuart,
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. I know she will be missed very much by all of you. One thing for sure is that all of her suffering is now over and she is at peace in her Heavenly home.Praise God and let her go to be with him forever.
If I or anyone in my family can do anything for you or your family please let me know. Also I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers.

Robin, Linda, Barry and Stuart.....I just heard about Nat passing away....I am so deeply sorry about your mother....I send my sincere condolences to all of you and for all of you kids to know that she is now in the arms of Jesus and with your Dad Horace Ray....if there is anything that I or my family can do for any of you, please don't hesitate to call....though it has been many years since I have seen any of you, I've always loved you and your family....God Bless each and every one of you.
