James Alvin Turner, 79, of Hopewell, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday March 15, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents Charles A. & Ethel Cox Turner and his first wife Clara Ingo Turner. Jim retired from Honeywell, formerly Allied Signal after 39 years of dedicated service as a Chief Operator in Area 9. He attended Unity Baptist Church in Prince George County and is survived by his loving wife Louise Campbell Turner, daughters; Lynda K. Frink & husband Dock, Patricia A. Turner all of Hopewell, son; James A. Turner, Jr., of Colonial Heights, daughter; Shannon M. Turner of Hopewell, grandsons; Douglas E. Dillon of Hopewell, Christopher L. Turner of Chester, sisters; Maxine Prater of Hopewell, Mary Ruth Cumbie & husband Frank of Madison Heights, Virginia, brothers; Raymond Turner & wife Betty of Salem, Virginia, Ralph Turner & wife Patsy of North Carolina, Charles Turner & wife Carol of Salem, Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Wednesday March 18, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Thursday March 19, 2009 at 11:00 Am. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park Chester. Very sorry to hear about James he was a good friend i worked with him many years at allied and he was always helpful in matters of building out side the plant.
