Kathryn Harrison Parrish, 57, of Hopewell, died Thursday, March 12, 2009. She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Peter and Virginia Daniels. Her beloved adoptive parents were Julia Harrison and the late Chauncey Harrison. In addition, she is survived by her brothers, Richard Harrison and wife, Ann and Chauncey Harrison and wife, RoseAnna; beloved nieces and nephews, Angela, Julie, April, Chauncey, and Wesley; great-nephews, Jonathan, Isaiah and Landon; great-nieces, Elizabeth, Grace and Ava; eight birth sisters, Roberta Winstead, Alice Hartsell, Vickie “Pinkie” Farley, Charlotte Ellison, Frances Haggerty, Linda Almarode, Sandra Yanocha and Lucy Keifrider; brother, Robert Daniels, Charlie Daniels, John Daniels and Wayne Daniels. She was preceded in death by a birth brother, Peter Daniels. Additional survivors include seven step-children, Joyce, Terri, Kim, Michael, Shawn, Dennis, and Kenneth; nine step-grandchildren, Jessica, Jason, Matt, Lauren, Lyndsay, Tripp, Logan, Leonard, Hayley, Ashton Rae and Corey; ten great-grandchildren as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Richmond Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and employed as a Public Health Nursing Supervisor with Crater Health District for 31 years. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Claremont Fire Department, P. O. Box 100, Claremont, VA 23899, Prince George Emergency Crew, P. O. Box 308, Prince George, VA 23875. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Kathy at the Petersburg Health Department many years ago, and so enjoyed working with her. She was a wonderful nurse and kind friend.

May GOD be with you in your time of need. May he comfort you. I remember Kathy as one of my nurse supervisors at the Petersburg Health Department. Her warm smile will be remembered.
