Taylor, Maria W.

Maria Elnora Washburn Taylor, 67, of Prince George County, died Monday, October 27, 2008 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Emporia, VA and had been a resident of the Hopewell and Prince George area most of her life. Mrs. Taylor was a former Brownie and Girl Scout leader, was an active member of Merchants Hope Church and The Merchants Hope Foundation. She was the daughter of the late Winthrop D. and Virginia Overstreet Washburn and the widow of Gerald Avin Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Maria Ingrid Taylor-Fincham and her husband Douglas of Baltimore, MD, Mary Taylor Headrick of Prince George and a brother, John R. “Jack” Washburn and his wife Becky of Matthews, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Merchants Hope Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George. Memorial contributions may be made to Merchants Hope Episcopal Church, 11500 Merchants Hope Road, Prince George, VA, 23875 or the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA, 23060. Jack and I have know each other for at least 55years and we grew up together playing in a band and Nora was always a part of that also.
I will dearly miss her and have fond memories always, as she was like part of my family.
May the family accept my deepest condolences and prayers.

Ingrid and Mary,

We went to college together Ingrid. I'm so sorry to read about your mom's passing. She was a great woman and she was full of life. My prayers are with you in your time of loss. God bless you all.

My sympathy goes out for your family. I am a co-worker of Mary's and I have came over to their house many times. Maria will be missed and she is in my thoughts and prayers.
