Perkinson, Julia S.

Julia Sutherland Perkinson, 46 of Midlothian, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Norfolk the daughter of John Whitfield Sutherland and the late Patricia Brandon Sutherland. She was retired from Virginia State Police after sixteen years as a Payroll Supervisor. She is survived by her husband, Mark Timothy Perkinson; son, Jonathan Wesley Perkinson and wife Jennie; grandchild, Zachary Daniel Perkinson; sister, June Garrison and husband, Timothy; three brothers-in-law, Ivan Perkinson, Baxter Perkinson, Jr. and David Perkinson; father-in-law, W. Baxter Perkinson, Sr. and a nephew, Brandon Garrison. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 5001 W. Broad St., Suite 217, Richmond, VA 23230. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. I worked at State Police and knew Julia well. I knew she was in bad health but she always had a smile for everyone and nothing stopped her from being helpful to her fellow co-workers. She did her job well. I know all the older employees knew Julia and will miss her very much. God Bless all of her family, I know she will be missed.

Tim, I don't know if you remember me, but I used to live at 301 W 31st Street above your parents and for a while next door to you. Was so sorry to see in the paper about your wife. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
