Lillian Slagle Heretick, 77, of Hopewell, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008. She was a life-long resident of Hopewell. Mrs. Heretick was a retired office manager for Family Practice, a member of St. James Catholic Church, Senior Friends at John Randolph Medical Center, TOPS, and past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hunter Norman and Edna Coleman Slagle, and her husband, John Paul Heretick. Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Heretick Smollich and husband Jerry of Chesterfield, Donna Heretick Lynch and husband Michael, of Williamsburg, two sons, Daniel Joseph Heretick and wife Monica of Chester, John David Heretick and wife Rachel of Hopewell and five grandchildren, Megan Lynch, Paul Lynch, Ashley Heretick, Sarah Heretick and Johnnie Heretick. A Christian Wake Service will be Friday, October 10, 2008 at 7:00P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with visitation to follow till 8:30P.M. A Mass of Christian Reesurrection will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Catholic Church with Father Frank Wiggins, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Petersburg. Contributions may be made to Hopewell Knights of Columbus P.O. Box 1350 Hopewell, Va. 23860 or your favorite chairty

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Lillian's passing. We have been out of town, returning home last night and so sorry that we missed the services. I had many fond memories of Lillian while I was growing up. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
