Long, Philip Wayne

Spring Grove
Philip Wayne Long, 68, of Spring Grove passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at MCV. Born in Petersburg on January 12, 1940, he was the son of Mrs. Clyde Stockner Long and the late Roy Long.
He was a graduate of Prince George High school and he served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired small engine repair mechanic and he worked at Standard James Shoe Repair with his father and son in Petersburg for over 40 years. He was the lead singer with the band “Wayne and the Aggressors” and an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife of six years and his best friend, Belinda Kay Ellis Long; his mother, Clyde Stockner Long; two sons, Philip Long and his wife Lisa, Randy Reeson; a daughter, Julie Helmer and husband, Howard; a sister, Joyce Lukomski and husband John; a mother-in-law, Madelyn Ellis; nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his great friend Robert Lee.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 2:00pm at Salem United Methodist Church in Spring Grove with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Purviance Chapel in Wakefield. Condolences may be posted to www.jtmorriss.com.

Sorry to read of Dad's passing. I have nice memories of my visits to the shop and the times I spent with the family.

I am so sorry to hear about Wayne's passing. Let the good times you all had together live in your hearts forever. I can see you on your wedding day, you both were so happy!!! Let me know if I can do anything for you..I'm just a phone call away.

There is no easy way to get through the next few days. You each know how much
Wayne loved you and have memories of the good times you shared. That love will
always be with you.

When your heart aches so much that you think you can not stand it, remember that love
you shared and the good times you had together.
