Lockhart, Elva K.

Elva Nadine King Lockhart, 78, of Chester, VA departed this life to join her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 26, 2008. Born in Covington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Connie H. and Mary Pearl King. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Roy E. Lockhart, Jr. Elva was retired from Firestone Synthetic Fibers in Hopewell after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Chester, VA, and a member of the Colonial Heights Quilting Guild. Daily, she provided a shining example of Christian faith, fellowship and family devotion. Elva is survived by two sons, Allen L. Lockhart (Debora) and S. Shayne Lockhart (Sherry). Granddaughters, Tammy Lynne Blake (Tim), and Reagan Elizabeth Lockhart. Great Granddaughter Kaylie Scotland Blake, and Great Grandson Jordan Chase Blake all of Chester, VA, Sisters Drema Blake (Cecil) of Hot Springs, VA., Rae Lewis of Covington, VA, Glenna Thacker of Glen Allen, VA, Brother Basil King (Dot) of Covington, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 6:00 PM with services to follow at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Cecil Chambers officiating, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with interment to be Wednesday at 2:00 PM in Alleghany Memorial Park, Covington, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Please accept my smypathies on your recent loss. It's been many years since our families have spent time together but I will remember Nadine & her hearty laugh & Christian faith.
