Daisy May Park Reames died Sunday, September 07, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Irwin and Ruth Sherer Park; husband of fifty-one years, Willard Anderson Reames, Jr. and sister, Nellie Park Watson and her husband, The Reverend Ira B. Watson, Jr. Her B.A. degree was earned from Madison College. She was secretary of the Aeolian Club and was the first person to be chosen as chapel organist for all four years. This required the approval of the College President and her parents. Secretary of the Presbyterian Council and membership in Kappa Delta Pi were two of her favorite co-curricular activities. Her M.S. degree was earned from the University of Richmond. Several of her articles may be found in professional publications. Mrs. Reames was the recipient of many honors during the thirty-six years she served as an educator. She retired from Thomas Dale High School as Administrator for Curriculum and Instruction in 1978. Until recently she was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she served as President of the Women, Superintendent of the Vacation Bible School, Chairman of the Covenant Post Graduates, an Elder, Teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class, and for many years was Chairman of the annual World Day of Prayer for Petersburg and the surrounding area. This event was sponsored by the Church Women United in the U.S.A and the International Committee. On the eighth day of November, 1998 she was elected Elder Emeritus of Covenant Presbyterian Church. This was one of her treasured moments as her church has always has been the center of her life. Mrs. Reames is survived by her brother, The Reverend Robert F. Park; her step son-in-law, Lawrence C. Powell; her step grandchildren, William L. Powell (Gladys) and Becky Powell Williams; and her great-grandson, Brandon Scott Williams. Also surviving are five beloved nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and ten great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 12 noon with interment at Blandford Cemetery. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Mrs Reames was my next door neighbor in Colonial Heights when I was a child-she and her husband were such nice neighbors-I always loved going to her house when I was a child. She was also my mother's school teacher at Thomas Dale. My prayers our with your family

My prayers and thoughts go out to Mrs Reames family
she was such a sweet lady

When I worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, I helped Ms Reams and her husband with their
health/prescription drug claims.
They were such a sweet couple.

I remember Miss Park from government class in 1946 at Thomas Dale High School. She was a lovely person.
