Dodd, James Earnest

James Earnest Dodd, 70, of Hopewell, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Miami, FL and had been a resident of Hopewell since 1980. Mr. Dodd was a member of the James River Black Powder Club, St. James Catholic Church, retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sgt and worked as a security officer for Pinkerton Security Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Mary G. Clarke Dodd. Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife, Hope Henriette Dodd, two sons, Brian Clifford Dodd, Matthew Scott Dodd, all of Hopewell. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Catholic Church with Father Frank Wiggins officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be private. The family is being served by J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. I was extremely sad to here of the passing of Jim. I only knew him for a short period of time while I was a memeber of the JRBPC but he was one of the nicest people I knew. Please accept my sincere sympathy during this time of deep sorrow.
Jim you will be missed!
