Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

My mother and I will always think of Winnie with a smile. She was such a joy to teach dance at Mariana's School of Dance. We shared so much laughter together and will treasure our special times. I once sang at one of her AARP Fort Lee events, all alone... with 500 people watching!
I was to provide the "Dance & Fashion Show" part of the event and the singers came late. Winnie begged me to keep the people occupied until they showed... she laughed about her surprise at me singing "In The Garden" getting them all to sing along on the Chorus.
Our deepest regards to the family of this wonderful lady. from Gwendolyn Glenn & Mariana
WHEN THE MOMENT COMES
by Gwendolyn Glenn
Love is the word
We use to express need
To examine that connection
Planted with God's seed,
The pain of another
Felt as if our own,
Awakens heartfelt expression
Knowing we have grown
Into fulfilled beings...
Complemented by friends
Completed by family
Able to face life's ends,
Outcomes of our journey
Those unexpected but known
Results of our time upon earth
Set a resounding tone...
The tolling of a bell
The lone bugles call
A whisper of weeping
Love touches one and all.
Winnie & I met many years ago through a mutual friend. She was a dear & delightful lady and we enjoyed moments of good conversation and company with each other. She was an avid dancer & I think that she will be dancing in heaven for eternity. I enjoyed my times with her even though we lost touch for the past couple years. IL know she will be remembered by so many and will be sorely missed. May God wrap his arms around her in a loving and warm embrace.
Winnie walked into President McNeer's office at Richard Bland College in 1997 and told him he needed a member of the College in Kiwanis. I had just been hired. He pointed her in my direction. Winnie was persuasive and signed me up on the spot. She was a joyful, positive Force of Nature, whose personality could light up a room. We are diminished by her loss. May she dance forever in the stars.
Pat Harvey, President Petersburg Breakfast Club and Lt Gov elect (09-10).
It was with a great deal of sadness that I heard of Winnie's passing. Although I lost contact with her over the past few years, I thoroughly enjoyed my friendship with her during the 1990s.
I met Winnie through a mutual friend of ours. Winnie was my sponsor in inviting me to join the Kiwanis Club of Petersburg in 1993. We continued a mutually enjoyable friendship until her series of health problems developed and she moved from Colonial Heights.
She was a lovely lady, with a wonderful sparkling personality, who inspired me to work much harder for making Petersburg a better community. Thanks to her, I am enjoying a much more productive life in retirement.
Jane, Mike & Holly, holding you close in thought now and in the days ahead with deepest Sympathy at this time of sorrow, Love, Edith.
