Ward, Lillian J.

Lillian J. Ward of Dinwiddie, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 3, 1924 in Petersburg to the late Curtis Wesley and Annie Mae Traylor Jones. Ms. Ward was a former cashier/bookkeeper for Whitmore’s Restaurant in Petersburg. She is survived by her son, Warren Maitland and wife, Robin of Jarratt, also surviving grandchildren, Heather Williams (Shane) of Richmond, Timmy Maitland (Niki) of DeWitt and Rocco Tedesco of Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, twins Chase and Channing Maitland of DeWitt; sister, Nellie Anna Creech of Jarratt; many nieces and nephews, among them two special nephews, Steven and Ric Creech of Jarratt; special friends Garland and Agnes Harrison, Mary Williams all of Dinwiddie. She was an avid animal lover. She will be missed by Blackie Ray and Little T. Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Blandford Cemetery.
