Needham, Odell V.

Odell Verlin Needham, “O.V.”, 88, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died July 27, 2008 in Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, VA. O. V. traveled many years as supervisor to financial offices throughout North and South Carolina. Later in his career, he owned and operated Florence Discount Beauty Supply, Co. He was married to Norma Needham for 68 years, and father to Gail N. Litton. His family includes: son-in-law, Dewey Litton; grandson, Lee Strathy and his wife, Kim and their son, K.C.; granddaughter, Cheryl Joyce and her children, Elijah and Sierra; step-granddaughter, Joyce Smith and her husband, Bud, and their children, Terri and Hunter; nephew, Raymond Needham and his wife Linda; and a niece, Betty Kale. O. V. is the youngest of 12 children all deceased. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow there in the chapel on Thursday, at 2 p.m. A private interment will take place afterwards in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, VA.
