Brooks, Robert M.

Robert Melvin Brooks, age 68, of Chester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Born in Long Beach, CA, he was the son of the late Robert D. and Ethel M. Grape Brooks. He was also preceded in death by his wife Andrea D. Brooks. He is survived by his daughter, Stacy B. Vanlandingham, of Mechanicsville, VA; sons, Robert M. Brooks, Jr. and wife Mary, of Chester, VA, Rodney A. Brooks and wife Wanda, of Titusville, FL; grandchildren, Paul, Lindsey, Kelsey, and Chad; brothers, George Brooks and wife Kathleen, of Dinwiddie, VA, Wes Brooks, of Leavenworth, KS, Gary Brooks, of Frederick, MD, Gregory Brooks, of Washington D.C.; sister, Sandra Baden and husband Buddy, of Brandywine, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2 p.m at the Chester Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral Home,with Pastor David Shaffer officiating. A private interment will be held in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Odyssey Hospice.
