Hartsell, Sharon Kenney

Sharon Kenney Hartsell, 60, of Hopewell, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Meadowbridge, West Virginia and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. Mrs. Hartsell was the first lady fireman to serve with the Hopewell Fire Department, was a member of the Victim Witness Program, a Hospice volunteer, a member of the Family of God Church and a retired clerk from the City of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Kenney and Thelma Kenney Mayes. Mrs. Hartsell is survived by her husband, Allen “Lonnie” Hartsell of Hopewell, two daughters, Rhonda Mullins of Hopewell, Mary Ann Langston of Colonial Heights, four sons, Bruce Hartsell of Richmond, Michael Benson, Billy Benson, and Joseph Benson all of Hopewell, fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her step-father, John Mayes of Hopewell, a brother Ronnie Stagner of Chesterfield, a sister, Johnna Mayes of Richmond and a twin sister, Sheila Conklin of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 6, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery. Joey, I am truly sorry for your loss. I can still remember you dancing with your mom at your wedding like Angie talked about in the above posted condolence. Please be strong for your family and know you still have good friends who care about you!

I am very sorry for your loss. I have some beautiful pictures of Sharon from our wedding(Joey & mine) if anyone would like to have them. I still have pictures of Joey dancing with his mom. I know that they would mean a lot to the family to have these. Again, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
