Avent, Betty H.

Betty Hall Avent, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, George O. and Cora Gibson Hall; husband, Jesse B. Avent; daughter, Sharon Avent; brother, Jack Wiberg and sister, Mary Bendall. Betty was retired from the Army and Air force Exchange where she was a supervisor in the military clothing department. She was also a member of American Legion Post #2 for over 20 years. Betty is survived by her sons, Dennis G. McAdams and wife Effie and Aubrey D. Avent and wife, Nancy; daughter, Brenda Fields and husband, Jimmy; grandsons, Brian Avent and wife, Crystal and John Kenan McAdams; granddaughters, Sharon Higgins and husband, Keith and Ulani Couper and husband, Dave; four great grandchildren; sisters, Lottie H. Pierce and Lucille H. Doyle: special friends, Doris Avent and Ellie McCaskill and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 14th at Blandford Cemetery.
