James Gordon Bailey, 71, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at CJW Medical Center. He was born in Surry County, Virginia and lived most of his life in Prince George County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl Gordon and Ethel Horne Bailey. He retired in sales from Starkes Grocery and was a member of the Burrowsville Ruritan Club. Survivors include a sister, Ann B. Valenta and husband, Thomas, of Colonial Heights and a nephew, Thomas M. Valenta, Jr. of Darnestown . MD.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 10, 2008, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Newville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 9014 Hines Road, Disputanta, VA 23842. Dear Jenny Lou, Gloria and family. Our hearts go out to each of you at this tragic time. Little Jim was so special to all of us. We pray that his death will bring some help and recognition to the plight of many who suffer with this problem. God can use everything and He will provide comfort to those who mourn. May he bless each of you with his loving touch. Our love to all of you.

Jimmy was a kind friendly person.He always had time for a hello or just chat a little.He loved his Redskins and never wavered win or lose.Ill always remember him from Starkes Grocery.He was the kind of guy you always looked forward to seeing and talking to.I wish the best for his family and friends.
