I had not seen or spoken with John in a very long time but I hold such good memories of the times we spend at RMC together - John - was also one of those rare people I would run into from time to time and it was just like we had spoken last week - the true definition of a friend - Fare Thee Well John and Godspeed.

It's an understatement to say that John was like a brother to me during our high school years. After college, even though I didn't see John as often, every time I met someone from Randolph-Macon or GE Financial/Genworth, I would ask if they knew him and usually they did and always had good things to say. He has left behind a great legacy for his family, co-workers, and friends (new and old). I'll always cherish the time we had so many years ago.

I was a classmate of John's at R-MC and am very sad to hear of the news. John had such a joy of life, was always friendly, nice and loads of FUN! A truly unforgetable person. My heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to The Graham Family.

I worked with John for 2 years when I was in Richmond, and had the dubious "honor" of playing golf with him on a couple of occasions. He was a great guy, a hard worker, and one of the most interesting people I ever met. I'm sorry to have lost touch with him after moving back to Florida, but value the brief time we shared. We are all richer to have known him.

John was such a great friend! His big loving heart, caring tender ways, and sense of humor kept it real during those formative years in college. His friendship made ALL the difference to me (and I know all the Phi Kap brothers and sisters can say the same!) His presence was enormous...we had so many good laughs and good times...Thanks John! This obituary gives glimpses of what an incredible person John was and what a joy it was to know him. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went and I am honored and thankful that he chose me to be so close to during such an important time in both of our lives. I will miss him greatly.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with you at this time of grief. I worked with John on various projects and through all the times we managed to keep a strong outlook.
