Saunders, Kay E.

Kay Ellison Saunders, age 86, of Hopewell, VA, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008. She was born in Chesterfield, VA, the daughter of the late Clarence V. and Bertha Stachowiak Ellison. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clarence V. Ellison, Jr. and her husband, William “Billy” E. Saunders. Mrs. Saunders was a waitress at the Navigators Den for many years, and a member of the Women of the Moose. She is survived by two daughters, Dianne Saunders O’Neill and husband Mike of Tampa, FL, and Pamela Saunders Land and husband Tommy of Prince George, VA; grandsons, Michael E. O’Neill and wife Carla of Sarasota, FL, Brian O’Neill and wife Tabitha of Hanover, PA, Matthew J. Land of Richmond, VA, and Courtney L. Land and wife Shannon of Fredericksburg, VA; Great-Grandchildren, Amanda O’Neill, Devin O’Neill, Rowan O’Neill, Wilder O’Neill, and Henry Land; a sister, Virginia Mohney of Williston, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Hopewell on Thursday, May 8, 2008 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a Women of the Moose Ceremony and visitation continuing till 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow there in the chapel on Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. with interment in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sycamore United Methodist Church Building Fund 9710 Old Stage Rd. Prince George, VA 23875, or to Crater Community Hospice at 840 W.
