Smith, Adell S.Sunday, May 04, 2008
Adell Skinner Smith, age 79, of Prince George, VA, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008. She was born in Sylvania, GA, the daughter of the late Walter and Savannah Jenkins Skinner. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Smith and son, William P. Smith Sr. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxilary #146 and retired from Allied Chemical. Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Brenda J. Arehart and husband Gary of Prince George; grandsons, Kenneth W. Arehart, William P. Smith, Jr., and Michael Shane Smith, all of Prince George; granddaughters, Stacey A. Arehart of Hopewell, Wendy M. Eavey of Chesterfield; and a great- granddaughter, Cassandra Rae Smith of Prince George. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Hopewell on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Wednesday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m. in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George. Dear Jeanne: I just learned of your Mom's death, and your brother, "Willie". I was so shocked about him. Your mother was always such a dear - we had great times growing up! The bunny rabbits, spending the night in the tent in the back yard, playing croquette for HOURS, YOUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS who we terrorized (cooties!), the ice cream man, riding our bikes behind the "Mosquito man" - so many wonderful memories - I don't know how our parents survived raising us!
