Allen, Ellen S.

Ellen Sullivan Allen, age 78, of Petersburg went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Paul Xavier and Thera Hazen Sullivan, and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson “Mole” Allen. Mrs. Allen was employed by the Petersburg School Boards as Cafeteria Manager for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed by family and friends always. Mrs. Allen is survived by her children, a son, Paul P. Allen and wife Greta; daughters, Sheryl A. Eley, Karen A. Cardwell and Allison A. Robertson; grandsons, Brian C. Dillard and Troy N. Allen and wife Angie; great-granddaughter, Keeley M. Allen; and a sister in law, Marie Allen Jones. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 from 7 to 8 pm. Graveside funeral services will follow on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park.
