Allen, James T.

James Thomas Allen, 80, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2008. He was the son of the late Rufus Cook Allen, Sr. and Girlie Turner Allen and was the husband of 54 years to the late Janie Lucille Allen. James was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School, retired from Dupont and a long time member of West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell. He is survived by his son, Cliff Allen; daughter, Sherri Allen Brooks and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, Nadine Brooks and Russell Allen and wife, Brandy; brothers, Wayne Allen and wife, Shirley of Mauldin, S.C. and Rufus “Bud” Allen, Jr. and wife, Trudy of Gig Harbor, WA; sisters, Marie Herring of Crossville, TN and Dorothy “Dot” Lill and husband, Ed of Longboat, FL. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell on Tuesday, April 15, 2005 at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
