To James, Mary Sue and Rick's Mom: I worked with Rick at Springhaven for about 14 years. He was a great guy and wonderful friend. We often shared things our kids were doing. He was always interested in both my son and daughter. Matthew, my son, also thought very highly of Rick, Rick always was picking on him. He always made us laugh and was a fantastic co-worker. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. In Christ, Patty Ballengee

Mary Sue,
I am so sorry to hear about Rick. The two of you were such a compliment to each other and an everlasting example of true love. I will always remember his gentle spirit, his big smile, his big heart and most importantly his devotion to you.
You and your family are in my prayers.

Mary Sue and the Krout Family,

James and family,

We are truly heartsick to learn of your father's recent illness and death. Everything happened so quickly. Although we did not know Rick that well, we have such fond memories of you with your kind and loving spirit. You've always held a special place in our hearts. We pray that God will comfort you and your family at this time and ease your pain. Your memories will sustain you in the days ahead. When I would see your Dad, I would ask about you. He was certainly a proud Dad and Grandfather.

God bless you,

To My Dearest Friend Mary Doug and her Family:

Although I have not seen Ricky in so many years, when I heard of his sudden passing, I immediately remembered his handsome face, laughing and teasing everyone, with a wonderful sense of humor and caring for all around him. They say God takes his favorites earlier than we'd like, and now has a wonderful, loving son, father, husband, brother, and friend.

May the love of your family and friends be a strong arm of comfort, during this very sad time. My prayers, thoughts, and love are with you and your family. Love, Dee Dee and Gene Mover

My heartfelt condolences to Ricky's entire family. I lost touch with him once we graduated high school and had not heard anything about him until my brother made me aware of his passing. I will always remember our high school days and the time we spent on the football field. Go with God my friend.

To the Krout Family,
I wanted to express my sympathy to the entire family. I had the pleasure of working for Rick at PCH for several years. He was always caring and considerate of his employees and always made us laugh. We will miss him.

I had the great fortune on my first day of Kindergarten to meet my lifelong friend James and by extension further blessed to count Rick as one of the many Fathers in our extended family of friends. I will always remember Mr. Krout for his genuine interest in all of James’ friends, never too busy to help any of us with our many activities and never too distant to take responsibility for keeping us all on the straight and narrow. He had fun with us, he made sure we were playing fair and learning the lessons of being both good winners and good losers. Little did we know we were getting a good education on how to be Father.
Mandi and I would like to express our sincerest sympathies to the entire Krout family. You have all been never too far from our thoughts and certainly never out of our prayers. His passing is a great loss yet we have all been much blessed for having had him in our lives.

God Bless,
Craig and Mandi

My thoughts, prayers, love, and sympathy go out to Ricky's family and friends during this very sad time. You could not grow up around the 3 1/2 Street playground and not hear, tell, or be a part of a story or two about Ricky; he was, and always will be, a true Hopewell legend. He remains a lovely part of my childhood and teenage memories forever. Again, my sympathy to all who knew and loved him; he will be missed.

I am very sad to learn of the passing of my friend Rick. He lived for several years in an apartment on the property that I manage, and I talked with him every day. He was a dear man, who was a big help to me at the property. When he moved, I was very sorry to see him go, and we all missed him very much. It is such a shame that he didn't live very long after retirement. I wish I could attend the services but due to the distance, am unable to do so. My deepest sympathies go out to his wife, mother and other family members. Rick had many friends in Princeton, and will be missed by all.
Sincerly,

Rick took good care of his family and his neighbors. He always took care of my mother, my sister and me when my dad traveled so much while I was growing up. Rick was there to calm me when our basset hound, Molly, was hit by a car after the blizzard of '93. James, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I will always have fond memories of your dad.

I am so sorry to hear about Ricky's death. The last time I saw Ricky was at Paul's memorial service. I know he will be missed by friends and family members. My sincere sympathy goes out to his family. Sincerely, Ruth Ann

To the Krout Family,
Words can not express my sorrow. Ricky was an amazing man and a pleasure to have known; always brightening our world with his smile and laughter. Please know that you are all in our prayers.

Ricky will forever echo within our thoughts, our words, our hearts, and in time he will again bring a smile to our faces with his memory.

I know he is one of Heaven’s brightest angels.
