Varga, Daniel D.

Daniel David Varga “Shorty”, 81, of Bracey, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2008. Daniel served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He coached and umpired Pembroke Kenilworth Little League Baseball for 16 years. Daniel retired from CSX Railroad in 1987 after 33 years of service. He was a member and a deacon of McKenney Baptist Church and also attended River Ridge Chapel. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ercelle Gordon Varga; children, Wayne Varga and wife, Dianne, Mikie Varga, Sr. and wife, Joyce, Carolyn Southard and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Stephanie Wilson, Patrick Varga, Kevin Varga, Michael Varga, Jr., and Bobbi and Brian Southard; four honorary grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three honorary great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Waverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel’s memory to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Wayne..........I just found out the other day that your dad passed....Iam so sorry to hear that.......I know the hurt and pain you feel as we lost our dad in 98 and our lil sister Cindy in 2002.....please know that our dads knew one another and they will continue on in Heaven .......I send sincere sympathy from the whole Wolfrey family and God Bless you and your family.
