Condolences
Brenda and Travis,
I felt your loss, your pain, your tears, your anger, your sorrow and your depression. Sam was my buddy, my partner in crime and yes, I loved laughing at his jokes and at him in general! I remember all the times you would get so flustered with him, but it was sooo funny what he would do! When you called him "SAM WHITE" in a tone that would scare most people, I knew he'd done something wrong! But deep down, I know you laughed, too! What I loved most about Sam was his honesty about what he believed in, whether you liked it not. You have to respect that!!!
Brenda and Travis, just know that the Weedon family is there for you and it doesn't matter what time of day or night, all you have to do is call! I'll be there! My van is programmed to your house any way! You're in my prayers every night!
I love you guys so much!
Love,
Alice, Jerome, Joshua and Katelyn

Brenda and Travis....Although it has been awhile since we were actively involved, I have so many wonderful memories of your family and mine, together....enjoying so many good times! Sam's humor was infectious! Brenda, you guys meant the world to me......remember the rummage sales? The craft shows? The times at Lake Gaston? Our years at Ecoff? Our yearly Christmas parties at the "White House"? Our New Years's parties @ "the Williams"? The cookouts, the block parties, our "Bahama Trip", and on and on? My heart goes out to you......so many were meaningful to Sam.....so many saw him as a genuine friend! He is missed...he was loved......he was "our Sam." Karen Williams

Dear Family Of Sam.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Sam. I have spoke with Him on several occasions, and purchased several items from Him, so it was a real honor to finally meet him at the November 2005 Richmond show. I always enjoyed speaking to Him and I will certainly miss Him. I pray that Our loving God will ease your pain. May Your family be blessed and comforted during this very painful time.

Dear Mrs. White, Travis, and the whole White family,
I live in Pennsylvania and have had the extreme pleasure of knowing Sam for about five years now and always looked forward to seeing him at Civil War relic shows. It was always a pleasure to spend time talking to him about the things he loved and gain from his knowledge. I would like to extend all of you my deepest sympathies and offer the assurance that Sam and his family are in my thoughts and prayers. He was a good man and will be sadly missed. May God grant all of you peace in this most trying of times.
Sincerely,

Sam White was an honest and ethical man that assisted in the preservation of Civil War history, and was a respected seller of period militaria. I had the good fortune to buy and sell with Sam, and I feel richer for the experience. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sam's wife and son, and all of his family. May God Bless and keep you during this trying time. Many, many people have you in their prayers.

We share many great memories of soccer and get togethers. We all loved Sam. You have been so supportive of my family since Andrew's death. We want you to know that we're here for you!
I'm sure that Sam and Andrew are together now plotting some silly practical joke for us all to enjoy.

Dear Family of Sam White,
I knew Sam just from him coming up to the Ohio relic show in Mansfield every May. Sam was always great to talk to. He was an expert in the field. My wife and I will always cherish the times we spoke with him. Our Prayers are with all of you. May God's peace be with you. ---- Steve and Bernadette Stanislav, Poland, Ohio

I have known Sam for along time. His love for history was inspiring to me and if i ever had a question he went out of his way to answer it. He was a perfect southern gentleman in every sense of the word.
Over the years i have bought lots of items from him and now it will make them more speacial as when i see them i will remember him and what he meant to our hobby.
Sam you were truly one of the good guys

I knew who Sam was through my employment at The Horse Soldier, Thomas Publications and helping to run the Fall Gettysburg Civil War Show. Sam knew who I was by sight but I do not think he knew me by name. However, everytime Sam saw me he would smile and say hello. Sometimes we would even chat for a bit before going our separate ways. He struck me as a friendly person who was always happy. I am deeply saddened by his death and I hope The Good Lord will gather his family, friends and associates into His loving arms and comfort them in this sad time. I will remember all of you in my prayers.

When We Ask Why?
God’s beautiful plan
Is sometimes concealed,
But someday His purpose
Will be fully revealed.
Someday God’s wisdom
Will make it very plain
Why problems were permitted
And how He uses pain.
Things thought illogical—
Disease, tragedy, fear—
Will someday make sense
When God makes all things clear.
We’ll see the Lord’s purpose
From Heaven’s point of view,
And we will understand
In ways we never knew.
Till we are home with God
Some answers have to wait.
“Lord, we’ll TRUST AND OBEY.
Lord, help us walk by faith.”

To the family of Sammy White:
I was so saddened to hear about Sammy, I couldn't believe it when I read it. I went to Petersburg High School with Sammy. My only regret is not knowing Sammy after then.
I'm sure Sammy was a great father and husband, I will keep you all in my prayers.
