McKeiver, SSGT William G.

SSGT William George McKeiver, U. S. Army (Ret.), 79, of Petersburg, died Friday, February 15, 2008. He served his country for 26 years including service in Korea and Vietnam. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elsbeth “Betty” McKeiver. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Anna and Jim Karnes of Roanoke, VA, Michael and Linda McKeiver of Chester, Barbara and Michael Arcuri of Cedar Rapids, IA, Regina and Garland Edwards of Surry, and Billy and Donna McKeiver of Atlanta, GA; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob McKeiver of Missouri; and a sister, Micki Reusch of Wisconsin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 18, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Robert Spencer, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 188, Surry, VA 23883. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Bubba and I were so sorry to hear about your Dad. Although we live in Maryland, now, my Mom and sisters in Virginia keep us connected to everything in Petersburg, etc. The days do get better. You and your family will be in our prayers.
