Metheny, Shirley

Shirley Ann Metheny, 71, of Hopewell died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in Medical College of Virginia Hospital. She was born in Hopewell and resided in the surrounding area all of her life. Mrs. Metheny was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie Mae Grinstead Zurik and her husband Robert M. Metheny. She is survived by two sons, George C. Kaloski, Jr. and his wife Patti of Chester, Donald Michael Kaloski, Sr. and his wife Janet of Highland Springs, three grandchildren, Amy Marie Kaloski of New Kent County, Donald Michael Kaloski, Jr. of Richmond, Michael Chase Kaloski of Highland Springs, two sisters, Edna Mae Brockwell of Highland Springs, Mildred Lucille Updike of Petersburg, numerous nieces and nephews, special neighbors and friends, Jimmy Jordan, Dot and Joe Hughes and her loving and devoted pet Angel. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Torrence of Laurel Hall United Methodist Church, officiating.
