Eugene Milton Berryman, age 90, a lifelong resident of Surry, died Sat. Feb. 2, 2008 in Waverly HealthCare Center. He was husband of the late Virginia Edwards Berryman who died Feb. 13, 2006. Born on Jan. 3, 1919 in Surry, he was the son of the late Henry Milton Berryman and Julia Anne Berryman. Mr. Berryman was a member of Moore’s Swamp Baptist Chu8rch and he liked to fish. He was devoted to his wife and his family, especially his beloved granddaughter Sarah. He had retired from his self-employed construction business. He is survived by a son, Milton E. Berryman of Surry and a granddaughter Sarah B. Parker. Graveside services will be held at in Moore’s Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Elberon VA on Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM by the Rev. Ray Rowland. Memorial donations may be made to the Surry Vol. Rescue Squad. The Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Service, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
