Myrtle Louise Pallay, 82, of Colonial Heights, died Saturday, January 12, 2008. She was born in Columbus, OH, the daughter of the late Harley F. and Bernadine Williams Hamler. Mrs. Pallay was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and their women’s organization in Colonial Heights, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 82 and 8 & 40 in Columbus. She also belonged to the Young at Heart Seniors through Elm St. Baptist Church, Petersburg, and the Central High School Class of 43 plus Alumni Association in Columbus. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Victor Pallay; daughter, Victoria Henderson and husband Ed of Colonial Heights; son, Joseph P. Pallay of Titusville, FL; grandchildren, Amy Henderson Ernst and husband Matt, James J. Henderson and wife Brooke, and Katie M. Henderson; great-grandchildren Tyler Samuel Ernst and Anna Elizabeth Ernst. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at 2pm at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH. We are so sorry about Mrs. Pallay's passing. She was surely the heart of your family. The love you all have for her and her love for you will last forever. May it comfort you to know that she is wrapped in Jesus' loving arms and is happier than anyone on earth can imagine! God bless you during this difficult time and always.

Mrs Pallay was a very nice lady we at wesley methodist church will miss her.

I did not know Ms. Pallay at all, I just happened to see her obituary in the paper. I was really touched by how long her and Mr. Pallay had been married and I wanted to send my condolences. Marriages of that length of time (61 years) are once in a lifetime things, and I am sure that Ms. Pallay will be missed by all who did know her.
