Martin Garibay Gloria, 74 of Petersburg died January 1, 2008. A native of Brady Texas, he was the son of the late Tomas V. and Florencia Garibay Gloria. He was predeceased by three brothers, Tomas Gloria, Marcos Gloria and Rodolfo Gloria. He served at the Fort Lee Quartermaster Corps for twenty three years in the petroleum department, followed by twenty four years with the Dept. of Defense as a quality assurance representative in Texas, and then retired to Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa Gloria; two daughters, Melinda Gloria Wilson and husband, James and Monica Gloria Vanderburg and husband, Rocky; son, Mario Gloria; three grandchildren, Megan Marie, Nicholas Martin and Christina Gloria, ten sisters, Cecilia Garcia, Sofia Olbera, Cesaria Ponce, Margarito Gloria, Ester Pena, Juanita Mendoza, Yolanda Perez, Julia Cantu, Alicia Guana and Amelia Tijerina; four brothers, Roy Gloria, Alberta Gloria, Daniel Gloria and Ismael Gloria; dear friend, Frank Vinsh and family Michael, Anna, Susan and Steven. A Mass of Resurrection will be said 11:00 am Monday, January 7, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 5001 W. Broad St., Suite 217, Richmond, VA 23230 or Diabetes Association – Richmond Chapter, 2788 Hydraulic Road, Suite 4, Charlottesville, VA 27410. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com

OUR CONDOLENCE TO THE GLORIA FAMILY. IT WAS A GREAT HONOR TO HAVE KNOWN MR GLORIA. I AM ALEJANDRA ZAMARRIPA'S DAUGHTER, SYLVIA, AND I MET MR. GLORIA AT THE LUBBOCK TX REUNION. IN FACT HE IS THE ONE WHO PAID FOR OUR HOTEL WHERE WE STAYED. HIS SMILE, HIS LAUGHTER, KINDNESS WILL ALWAYS STAY WITH ME. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I EVER MET HIM. I KNEW OF HIM BECAUSE OF MY MOM.HE WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO MY MOM I THANK OUR LORD THAT I DID GET TO MEET HIM. AGAIN MY CONDOLENCE TO THE FAMILY. WE WILL ALL MISS HIM DEARLY. Our Condolences to all the beautiful family of Martin Gloria. We have so many beautiful memories of him,always smiling and having a good time with friends and family. Our love and prayers to the family he left behind he will always be in our hearts. I know his in heaven, God always takes the best angels to heaven, he is with family that loves him. Please be strong Mary, we love you very much.

Our prayers are with the family and we are very sorry of the loss of our Brother and Tio MArtin G. Glora. We have beautiful memories of his past times ar our reunions which will be our memories of our wonderful Brother and Tio. He was always thoughtful to his brothers and sisters and that will always be a special memory in our hearts. God Bless and give you all strength through this difficult time. Our thoughts are with Melinda and Jim and the Gloria family. Although we did not know Mr. Gloria, we know that he must have been a great man to have raised such a wonderful daughter Melinda. May his spirit live on in his family and friends.

We pay our respect to Martin a great friend to no end.To the family we say thank you for being the such a great influence in our lives as only Martin always was.We will miss him but not forgotten.He left a wonderful mark on this earth.

All our love and prayers to our family in Petersburg Virginia. We are all saddend and hurt on the loss of our Tio and Padrino Martin. God only knows why he allowed us to see him at his happiest during our Family Reunion, together and enjoying life. We all have many precious memories of the present times but also those of our childhood. He will be well received up in heaven and to know that my Brother and Father will enjoy his presence amongst them.
I pray for God's blessing for you all and give you the emotional strength to see you througth this difficult time.
