Wells, Walter E.

Walter Eugene Wells, 61 of Petersburg, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007. He was a native of Petersburg and the son of the late Eugene Franklin Wells and Charlotte Gibbs Muse. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2. He is survived by his wife Shirley; three sisters, Rose Bickings of Chesterfield, Vella Ellers of Catawba, VA and Debbie Sies of Goldsboro, NC; brother, Richard Waite of Prince George; two stepchildren, Michael Vertucci of Drakes Branch, VA, Barbara Bishop of Hopewell; son, Robert Eugene Wells of Conway, SC; two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren; uncle, Earl Wells of Petersburg; special friend, Carol Green of Petersburg; cousin, Earl Wells, III of Prince George, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm along with an American Legion Service at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
