Richard Gordon Temple, 88 of Church Road died Friday, November 2, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Temple was born in Petersburg and had been a long time resident of Church Road. Mr. Temple Retired from Civil Service Employment as the Supervisor of Steamfitters and Boiler Plants at Fort Lee VA. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club. Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyssess G and Hattie Dewell Temple and son Richard Arnold Temple. He is survived by his wife, Georgie B. Temple of Church Road, son, Gordon Keith Temple and wife Rose B. Temple of Church Road, nieces, Shelby Miller of Hopewell and Lorraine Dodds of Wakefield. He is also survived by Karen King of Ashborn, VA a dear friend whom Mr. Temple thought of as a substitute granddaughter. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 6, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Gordon Temple 6932 Trinity Church Rd. Church Road VA, and a Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA with the Rev. Robert Smith, Pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating.
