Richard Gordon Temple, 88 of Church Road died Friday, November 2, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Temple was born in Petersburg and had been a long time resident of Church Road. Mr. Temple Retired from Civil Service Employment as the Supervisor of Steamfitters and Boiler Plants at Fort Lee VA. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club. Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyssess G and Hattie Dewell Temple and son Richard Arnold Temple. He is survived by his wife, Georgie B. Temple of Church Road, son, Gordon Keith Temple and wife Rose B. Temple of Church Road, nieces, Shelby Miller of Hopewell and Lorraine Dodds of Wakefield. He is also survived by Karen King of Ashborn, VA a dear friend whom Mr. Temple thought of as a substitute granddaughter. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 6, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Gordon Temple 6932 Trinity Church Rd. Church Road VA, and a Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA with the Rev. Robert Smith, Pastor of Central Baptist Church officiating. In lue of flowers contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Church 6405 Court House Rd Church Road VA, 23833. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com

Dear Keith,

I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. I only meet him once but it is sure clear to me now, why you are such a wonderful person; it was your parents gift to you and the world. I hope your family is blessed with peace and comfort through this difficult time. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family and you are in my prayers, to be comforted now and through the upcoming seasons. Please take care and I wish you and yours health and happiness.
