Mr. Cecil Ruben Mays, age 82, of Hopewell, VA, passed from this life into Gods Kingdom on Thursday, November 1, 2007. He was born in Amherst, VA, the son of the late Epp and Maggie Fitzgerald Mays. Early on in life he moved to the Spring Grove area, where he spent most of his life as a farmer with Upper Brandon, and provided for his family. Cecil is survived by a wife of 59 years, Mrs. Ella G. Mays; a son, Cecil D. Mays & wife Sheila; a daughter, Donna Cribb and husband Allen; sister, Evlyn Farrah and husband Ed; four grandchildren, April, Tammy, Michael, and Melisa; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Hopewell, on Monday, November 5, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow Tuesday, 11 a.m. graveside, in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA.
