Smith, Faye Oatland Eason

Faye Outland Eason Smith, 98, passed away October 26, 2007, in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. She was a former resident and homemaker on Bank Street in Waverly and is survived by her husband, Roy Harold Smith.
Born in Isle of Wight County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Junious Leroy and Ruth Wright Outland and the widow of Reidell H. Eason. Mrs. Smith was also predeceased by two sisters Ruby O. Turner and Adelia O. Babb; three brothers, Leon Outland, Fenton Outland, and Carlton Outland; a nephew, Carlton Outland, Jr.; and a niece, Claris B. Cooper.
She was the oldest member of the Waverly Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. Faye was also a past member of the Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by two stepchildren, “Jim” Smith and his wife, Kathy, and Teresa Bales and her husband, “Butch”; three nieces, Joyce O. Bradt, Evelyn B. Massey Hitchings, and Margaret Earle Spivey; and two nephews, J. L. Babb, Jr., and Hurley Babb.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, VA, with the Rev. Keith Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in the Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening, 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be posted on our website at www.jtmorriss.com.

I am so sorry to learn of Faye's passing. She was such a beautiful person. I will always remember our days in the choir together. May God be sustain through this difficult time.

Alta and I express our deep condolence on the loss of Faye. She fought a long hard battle and you were at her side all the way. Its all up to the Heavenly Father now, may she rest in peace.
