Dear Traci and Family,

You must miss your Mother and Grandmother so very much but she's at peace now. I hope you will find some comfort in that. Mike lost his mother in June. Sometimes I'm in disbelief that she's gone. She is in a better place with God as is your Mom.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I send my love and prayers to you.

Cousins Traci, Gus, Kim, Michael and Families,

I am deeply saddened about your great loss. My heart aches for all of you. Times spent with Diane and especially during her illness gave me a new appreciation for faith and strength. She exemplified both.

You must “Keep the Faith” as she did knowing that God truly loves you, is there for you, and will get you through these hard times. And say as she said many times when things must have been so hard – “I’m not throwing in the towel yet” meaning she was truly leaning and depending on God. For sure this too will give you the strength you need to get through.

We loved Diane and love all of you as well and pray that God will bless and comfort you at this time and as only He can!

Much Love,

Cousin Eva and Family

Traci, Gus, Kim & Michael

Please I am asking that you do not cry, for Diane only went home to meet Jesus in the sky. She has a mansion, a crown, and a beautiful white robe, and what a glory it is for her to walk on streets paved of gold.

Traci, Gus, Kim and Michael I must say that, she fought a good fight and Diane kept the faith, and with the help of the Lord she was able to win the race. Now when times get hard and you can't see your way, just fall on your knees and began to pray; listen with your heart and not with your ears you will hear a small voice say I am still here.

Perhaps she was born to live here some eighty years or more. But the Lord said, Come, Diane for it is now time for you to go, come go with me and receive your reward on high, in that big city called Heaven up in the sky.

Again I am asking that you do not cry, because Diane only went home to meet Jesus in the sky. The day she went home was like a dream come true, because there is nothing like a sky nicely shaded light blue. So if YOU SHED A TEAR, please let it be only tears of JOY.

Dear Traci and Family,

I pray that you will find continued strength in the days ahead. As always, God knew best when He commanded that she suffer no longer. Knowing how Ms. Batts loved to be there for her family, trust the she is in the best position to continue to get that done. She was a very gentle spirit and I am thankful to God for the opportunity He gave me to get to know her better on our vacation last summer. Let her amazing strength now be the fuel for your strength. I love you and am here if you need me.

To Kim and The Family

Your mother was my mother, I loved her so much, I will truly miss her.

When I met Diane, I knew that I found a special friend; I felt we became friends instantly, we called each other two or three times out of the month, and sent cards on Holiday.

My heart is heavy right now, because I'm going to miss my Mama, but I know that she is in God's hand, and I know that she is at peace.

Right now I say Thank You Diane, for letting me be your Daughter.

Kim I will keep you and your Family in Prayer.

To the Batts family, I did not know Mrs. Batts personally but I did know her through her daughter Traci. On a number of occasions Traci and I would share experiences and conversations about our parents. I have had the opportunity of knowing and working with Traci over the years in both Prince Georges County and Montgomery County governments. Mrs. Batts must have been a sweet and religious person because her fruits, i.e., daughter has demonstrated this.

May the peace of God be with you the family knowing that Mrs. Batts is at rest and with our Heavenly Father.
