Orton, Raymond L.

Raymond Lee Orton, 80, of Prince George Co., passed away September 27, 2007 at MCV Hospital due to complications from a severe fall. He was born October 15, 1926 in Reams, Virginia. He was a former sawmill and lumber company owner, tree farmer, and retired millwright. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry R. and Ruby M. Orton; his brother, Horace M. Orton and granddaughter, Shannon Renee Orton-Brooks. Mr. Orton is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Seale Orton, daughter, Miss Sharon Rose Orton; daughter, Mrs. Melinda S. Ohlmeyer; son-in-law, Ernest J. Ohlmeyer; grandson, Matthew H. Daniels. The graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, October 2, 2007 with the Rev. Frank Mills officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Entombment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park.
