Duncan, Robert E.

Robert Erving Duncan, 79 of Hopewell died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond. Mr. Duncan was born in Spencer, Iowa and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was an active member of First United Methodist Church and was a security guard for Wackenhut at Honeywell Corporation. Mr. Duncan was the son of the late Earl and Vera Skinner Duncan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hattie Poarch Duncan of Hopewell, a brother, Kenneth Duncan and his wife Mary of Rockford, MN, his godchildren, Faith Faris Gable of Chester, Ronald Faris of Providence, RI and Wendell Faris of Westerville, OH and many other surviving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2007 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. O.H. Burton, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 502 West Broadway, Hopewell, Virginia, 23860. I was sorry to hear that your Husband had passed away. I am thinking of you and praying for you at this time. I hope the very best for you as you go on. I think it proper to let you know how much I appreciate the way you helped at the Nursing Home. I will not forget you. Take care.

Mrs. Duncan,

Please accept my condolences and sympathy for the loss of Bob. I know you two have been together for so many happy years. I remember the good times we used to have at the bowling alley in the Church League. My prayers are with you.
